In 2018, we moved to the ‘Beacon of Light’ building in Sunderland. We filled this excellent, brand new, venue with both schools and companies. By September we were turning away both pupils and exhibitors for lack of space.
We were delighted with the high level of returning exhibitors and schools from 2017 and again received excellent feedback from pupils, teachers and exhibitors. One primary teacher remarked: “A fantastic day which has really inspired our pupils”.
As in 2017, the 2018 event proved to be a draw for schools from all 12 local authority areas in the North East.
This year we also hosted the Big Bang’s ‘UK Young Scientists and Engineers’ regional competition.
