At the Beacon of Light for the second year, in 2019 we hosted 1,800 pupils from 135 schools and 67 North East based engineering companies. Over 200 teachers also attended. We closed applications from schools and companies in June because we were full! (for an exhibition in October).
Once more the feedback was excellent from all quarters.
Our post event survey indicates that the event had a positive impact on expanding knowledge about careers in engineering͘ and what people in engineering do.
The survey also indicated that the event increased girls’ positivity about engineering.
We hosted the ‘Big Bang Near Me’ North East final in 2019.
